For a good cause...

One of my responsibilities is to sort books and stock the shelves at Vapor Thrift Store in Columbus, GA. I LOVE that part of my job and it was one of the reasons that I decided to start this blog! I'm going to keep a list of books that look interesting that I find in the store, and maybe I'll get around to reading them if you don't beat me to it!!

Today I found a bunch of books by Joanne Fluke. They are part of the Hannah Swensen Mysteries and they're all dessert based murders...according to the titles at least! Some of the ones that we have are: Cream Puff Murder, Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder, Fudge Cupcake Murder, Blueberry Muffin Murder, ...and the list goes on. You can see why I'm intrigued by this right???

Another one that caught my attention today was: Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. I'm trying to remember if anyone has done a Growth Group with this book before.

Oh and I have about 20 style guides and several copies of Norton Anthologies for anyone who might need them for school. And PLEASE come check out our home school materials!!!

Until next time,

Kim

(8/19/11) Here are a few things that made me smile today:

A book from 1968 called "The Secretary's Manual" which explains how to take dictation and how office equipment can make your job easier. CRAZY how much things have changed!

A book from the early 80s called "Introduction to Computer Organization". Wow... it starts out with binary code. It is THAT basic!!!

A whole box of books by Louis L'Amour that my sweet boyfriend donated. Any fans of this genre? I think I may have all of them!!

I picked up a book called "Bad Girls of the Bible" that I'm excited about diving into after I finish the two books to which I'm already committed. Looks like a very interesting read!!
